a keeper or custodian of a museum or other collection.
The work of a curator is the decide which pieces, artworks, antiques, or even animals, go into a collection. Not only that, but a curator also designs the exhibition in the way they want the viewer, or visitor, to experience the collection.
The curator is in control, but behind the scenes, backstage, selecting, arranging, and painstakingly arranging the pieces.
Leaders are curators.
Entrepreneurs are curators.
CEOs are curators.
They work behind the scenes selecting and arranging the talent, assigning each piece to its place. The place in the collection where it will be best experienced, understood and amplified.
Leaders' work is to show others' work.
When the whole is experienced as more than the sum of its parts, the curator, the leader's work is complete.
I am a flâneur, which basically means I spend a lot of time in coffee shops watching the world go by.
