Be strong to be ...

Yesterday I sent a letter quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger's new book title, “Be Useful”

And Dori, one of the readers, sent me this gem by French physical educator Georges Hébert (1875-1957):

“Be strong to be useful”

Hébert’s basic movements, walking, climbing (also on all fours), throwing, lifting, jumping, and balancing, are key in the French military’s training and inspired David Belle to create Parkour*

Parkour in turn inspired Good Living to create parkour-inspired movement classes for the elderly.

Which is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while and inspired me to keep on moving (and playing!).

I hope it does the same for you.

*I’m a parkour fan, so much so that I used parkour images on Be Brave’s site and I’m obsessed with this Instagram feed (Paris and the music is just 👌)
