Elsa Schiaparelli

"In difficult times, fashion is always outrageous." —Elsa Schiaparelli

Elsa Schiaparelli was a fashion designer that worked in the first half of the 20th century, at the time of the great wars. Schiaparelli's designs were heavily influenced by Surrealists like her collaborators Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau.

She was a pioneer, groundbreaking, and avant garde.

The image above is from the recent Met Gala, that happens in New York on the first Monday in May. This year’s theme was Camp Fashion. Outrageous is an understatement.

Tough times make for great creativity, both as a beacon of hope and to remind us we are still here, we can still have a little fun.

Get skin in the game, create.
