In the 1980s the Walt Disney company was nearly broken up and sold for parts, it was the film The Little Mermaid that saved it and birthed a new era for Disney.

Why wasn’t Disney sold for parts?

The world needed Disney. It is greater than the sum of its parts.

As a whole, it creates magic and drives imagination.

And, for all its faults, the world would be a poorer place without it.
