like trying to push back a river

If you have been reading these for a while you'd know that I'm a bit of a Japanophile (did you know that the seamstresses in Japan have a special ceremony every year to honour the blunt needles?).

This is my most recent interest, MORITA therapy.

It was developed by Japanese psychiatrist Shoma Morita in the early part of the twentieth century. Morita therapy works with anxiety, fear, and depression (all the 'negative' emotions), not by trying to get rid of them but rather by embracing them as a normal part of life and of a healthy human being.

In Morita therapy, these emotions aren't the problem the actions you take to avoid them is, like suppression and addiction.

In short, feel the pain, the fear, the anxiety, and let it flow over you and through, trying to stop them is like trying to push back a river, and then choose your path.
