Monsters and Mermaids

I hope you are doing well and surviving (even thriving) amidst the chaos. I was away with my family for a while and tried to rest (I'm terrible at relaxing, I like making things).

So I'm glad to be back. :)

Something for today, and maybe this season the phrase Terra Incognita. It first appeared in Ptolemy's work in 150 CE and variations thereof were used to designate unexplored territories on maps. Some maps read, Here be Lions, and we have one globe that has the phrase 'Here are Dragons'. Terra Incognita is the unknown, a place filled with monsters and mermaids. Sadly during the 19th century, with most of the globe explored, the phrase disappeared from maps.

Humans are explorers by nature, we are always on the lookout for that which is beyond the horizon. Our desire for truth drives us or in the words of Moana, 'The line where the sky meets the sea it calls me!'

What is calling you this week? What parts of your life remain terra incognita? What parts of the industry you work in is too 'dangerous' to explore?

Do you need to go where the monsters and mermaids rule?
