Do you even remember the last time you did nothing, the last time you were actually bored? Even just stood silently in a queue without whipping out your phone?
It is really difficult to just be with ourselves, probably because we have to face ourselves then.
Spending 20 minutes a day in silence/meditation/silent prayer/contemplation/mindful training, whichever term you prefer, is one of the best things you can do for your life. It will make you more resilient, more productive, calmer, and healthier.. the list goes on. And it is just 1/60th of your day, now that is some serious ROI.
Starting can be tough though, luckily there is an app for that! Headspace has a great 10 session free starter course, I listen to Tara Brach's guided meditations often, and then there is the Insight Timer meditation app, that I use most often.
Do it for 21 days straight and it will change your life. Guaranteed.
