There was a cartoon in the New Yorker a few years back, it was of a guy standing at a bar, telling bar tender:
"I know I'm nothing, yet I'm all I can think about."
Our minds can be our own worst enemy, better to step back often from all that thinking, thinking, thinking..
Do you have a practice, that helps you get out of your head?
Meditation is the obvious one, and it works like a bomb. Another one for me is weightlifting. When I'm standing in front of the bar there is nothing else I can think about other than lifting that weight. It takes all my concentration and attention, and for that moment, I'm free from the hamster wheel in my head.
