Where to start?
It's tempting to jump into a new field, a new medium and just 'build the plane as you're flying'. More often than not, this ends in work that is mediocre at best, and a plane crash at worst.
I used to always tell my team, 'Ready, Fire, Aim'. This approach is exciting, fun, tiring, and in the end demotivating. It had some great hits, and too many misses.
Another option, is to start from your 'place of power'. Great advice from Rina Stutzer, an artist and friend; all artists have a medium, a language of symbols, an approach that they are comfortable with, they excel at, that works.
That is the place to start. The place you know, start from your front door. Not from your neighbor's.
What is your place of power, in whatever industry you are in? What do you create that always works, resonates, sells?
And build on that.
I am a flâneur, which basically means I spend a lot of time in coffee shops watching the world go by.
