If you are anything like me, you hate doing the same thing over and over and over. So tired of going to the same gym, seeing the same naked people in the change rooms?
Try Fitkey, a local (Yay SA) app, that gives you access to unlimited classes at different studios for one affordable monthly fee. Simple check on the app what class you like, book it on the app, and show up.
There are 100 studios in Jozi, 71 in CT, and 19 in Pretoria (come on pretoria?!).
Go give the Fitkey people some love.
2. Meditation Pods
I am a big advocate of spending time alone in silence, call it prayer, call it meditation, but if you can be content and happy by yourself when sitting alone in a room, in silence for 30 minutes? Then that is true success.
Headspace, a fantastically succesfull meditation/mindfullness app (its great because it removes all the whoo whoo from meditation and just boils in down to the skills), they have developed these meditation pods
Designed by architecture firm Oyler Wu, the pods offer a carved out spot for people to practice meditation.
Inside, there’s a screen giving users various content, like the Headspace library of guided meditations. The pods encourage you to sit back, slip on the headphones, and watch the screen as it guides you through a meditation.
Imagine having a couple of these at your office?
3. Skateboard Church
I posted this in the week on my fb page, but its so cool here it is again in case you missed it.
Located in the Spanish municipality of Llanera, Kaos Temple, as it’s known, has become a destination for skateboarders around the world with its one-of-a-kind interior painted by artist Okuda San Miguel.
The building was is a terrible condition when it was purchased by the Church Brigade. Now it's skateboarder's heaven.
In our day and age, building use overall needs to rethought, why use a building only for a single purpose, how can we maximise our buildings instead of just building more? How can we repurpose buildings? And so on..
This is by me, Pierre, each week I post three things that grabbed my attention, and that I like. You can also sign up for the newsletter version here
