A new direction for me, back to the old.

I'm turning a page, backwards.

Ever since I was little I've loved design and beautiful things. My mother always tells the story of how as a three-year-old I would comment on clothes when she went shopping, much to my grandmother's disappointment and shock at this little boy commenting on dresses :P

I'm originally from a design background, I studied fashion in the 90s and since worked in every creative field imaginable. If you know me you know how much these two or three things matter to me,

I love beautiful things, design and art, and I love people.

For the last 4 or 5 years, I've focused nearly exclusively on helping people become better people, myself included. Looking back, I know how necessary that was for me, and when I read your replies I know how much that work meant to you too (especially since the start of the pandemic).

Design starts with empathy

But now, it's time to build again. To return to my roots, and make stuff.

I want to use my creativity and my network, coupled with my love for people to help businesses design and build valuable brands,  products, services, experiences.

So I've changed my focus, my work now will be to help people design valuable tools (and hopefully become better humans whilst doing it).

The daily email will continue, with a slight shift in focus.

Palaestra will still be the beautifully curated, members-only, letter, that has naturally evolved over the last few months into a selection of the best design and creativity the world has to offer.

Please go and poke around on my re-built site, and let me know what you think

Pierre
