Digging a little deeper when faced with a decision

In the last week or two, I've been sharing some of the ways I use to discern when faced with a decision.

We started off by asking, what do I want? This is crucial of course, the emphasis being on the 'I', but there is another underlying and maybe tougher question to answer,

'Why do you need or want to make this decision?'

In other words, what is driving your desire for change?

Then, is this decision then truly going to address that desire?

For example, people contemplate getting out of a relationship or job because the person doesn't make them happy, just like in the previous five setups.... (see where I'm going with this?)

Dig a little deeper, ask why this change is necessary.
